Invisalign/Clear Aligners
Up until just recently , when someone wanted to straighten teeth because of crowding or a deep overbite the only option was to have those metal bands and brackets glued onto your teeth for 2-3 years ! A few years ago orthodontic braces were developed that used clear or ceramic brackets ....but they were still teeth braces ! Invisalign is a new orthodontic system of straightening teeth without the use of conventional braces. Invisalign braces or invisible braces involves the use of a series of clear plastic aligners to create tooth movement. Moving teeth with removable aligners is not used on anyone under the age of 15 -17 years , so it is an ideal alternative to braces for adults .Our invisalign dentist will evaluate you teeth and bite and determine your invisalign treatment . There will be impressions and x-rays taken from which a patented the computer program at the Invisalign company will generate a series of clear aligners to allow your teeth to move properly . Invisalign is recommended for orthodontic situations with mild to moderate spacing or crowding. They are virtually undetectable, easy to use ,comfortable to wear and are a great alternative to traditional dental braces.The cost of invisalign can range from $3,500-$5,500 depending on how complex the case is and how many clear aligner steps there are . After the teeth have been straightened , you will need to have retainers made to keep the teeth from relasping back to their old tooth positions . A retainer can be removable , such as clear reatainers worn at nite , or a bonded retainer that is permantently attached to your teeth .
